Some common reasons your hair stunts to grow or you start to
experience hair loss.
Oftentimes hair loss is the first sign of trouble. While age is
definitely a factor hair loss, other factors, such as hormonal imbalance,
emotional stress, medications and hair care products can also lead to thinning
of the hair. The best way to get to the root of the problem is to determine the
underlying cause.
1. Hormonal Imbalance – Menopause, thyroid problems or genetic
hormonal responses to autoimmune conditions can also cause thinking of hair and
premature balding in women.
2. Emotional Stress – Men has more testosterone than women, but if
you are under intense stress, research indicates the adrenal glands become
overworked due to an increased need for the “stress hormone” known as cortisol.
This causes the body to produce more adrenaline and testosterone, and DHT, a
stronger variant of testosterone. This creates a hormonal imbalance.
3. Pregnancy – This is extremely common and familiar to most.
During post-partum, mothers experience thinning and sometimes even bald
patches. Don’t worry this is only temporary and oftentimes treatment isn’t
necessary. If your hair is restored within the first year after giving birth,
chances are something else is going on. Seek medical advice.
4. THE PILL or any method of birth control – I can
definitely relate to this one! If you’re on a birth control or anticipating
going on it, be sure you invest in a low-androgen index pill to avoid the
effects of DHT (Dihydrotestosterone).
5. The solution: If you’re suffering from hair loss, chances
are a hormonal imbalance is to blame. Maybe you can find a bioidentical hormone
doctor that can determine you’re experiencing a hormonal imbalance problem or
if it’s simply genetic.
